    What is the mouse DPI?

DPI (Dots per inch) is a measurement used to show how many pixels your mouse can move when you move it by one Inch, it is also the measurement of sensitivity of the mouse. For example, if your mouse has 1200 DPI then moving the mouse by one inch means the cursor moves 1200 pixels on your screen.

Higher the DPI means your mouse is highly sensitive. A higher DPI is not always better, it makes the cursor fly on your screen when you mouse little bit. By setting a higher DPI will help your mouse to detect and respond to smaller movements so you can point at things more accurately. DPI settings are more important especially for the people who play games.

Mostly used in but not limited to video games (where one needs to switch between precision and speed), CAD and graphics design (since design needs precision to squeeze every bit of pixel).

    Changing DPI settings on Windows

If your mouse has DPI buttons, press one of the DPI on-the-fly buttons to create new settings for each DPI button.

If your mouse does not have DPI buttons, go to start search for Mouse and Keyboard Centre, select the mouse you are using, click basic settings, locate sensitivity and make your changes. If you face any trouble, then just contact a computer expert professional like “Computer Repair Onsite”

    Changing DPI settings on Apple

Apple menu ->choose System Preference->select Accessibility->select Mouse & Trackpad and make your changes.

    Mouse with highest DPI

Logitech’s G502 Proteus Core has one of the highest DPI of 12,000. A few other gaming mouse makers like “Red Dragon”, provide great quality. You can buy all such and many more cool gaming products at X-Tech Buy.
