Connecting an iPhone to iTunes through a Macbook or a PC is a necessary part of the digital housekeeping. Syncing your iPhone to your iTunes is a very handy trick or sometimes the only option to carry-out tasks like transferring the media on to the computer or maybe syncing the iPhone for an update. However, sometimes it can be seen that your iPhone doesn’t show up on iTunes and hence isn’t visible. Even when you try to connect it to your computer via a USB cable still sometimes you may see that your iPhone doesnt have a trace of appearance anywhere since your iTunes may not be able to recognize the device. In this article we will be discussing about some of the solutions that can be put into action to solve this problem as usually it can be solved with things like simple updates or restarts, in more complicated cases you may have to buy new cables or cords but at the worst case scenario the only option left is to visit Apple Support and look for the solutions directly from the dealer. To secure your home computer well, you are suggested to contact your local computer expert like “Computer Repair Onsite”.

What to do when your iPhone isn’t showing up in iTunes

    1. First thing to do in a case like this is to try a different USB cable or a
      USB port.

The most simplest thing to do in a situation like this is to try a different USB cable or a USB port. This
is because sometimes faulty hardwares can be the reason as to why your device isn’t able to connect
properly to your computer. Thus, trying a new USB cable or a port can be benefcial solution if the
reason behind non-pairing is defective hardware. If the replacement of both the cable and the port
don’t work then as a last resort you can try pairing your iPhone to a different computer and if there
the pairing is successful then you know that the problem occurring is with your computer and not
      your phone.
    2. Restart your iPhone and computer
If your phone still isn’t visible on iTunes then the next solution is to restart your iPhone and then
your computer. This one here is a very obvious step and it also works most of the times as the
restart’s or the turning off’s flush out the short-term tasks and data from your device’s RAM. For
whatsoever reason it is thought that sometimes this data might be interfering with how your iPhone
      or your computer maybe working.
    3. Turn on and unlock your iPhone
It may go without saying but you will need to unlock and open your phone to check if your iPhone is
      visible on your iTunes now.
    4. Trust your computer
The fourth simple step is to trust your computer when the notification of “Trust This Computer?”
pops up on your iPhone’s screen. If you wont carry forward with this step then your iTunes might
not detect your iPhone thus goes without saying that trust your computer for an easy pairing
process. However, if in a fit of unfortunate circumstance you may have chosen Don’t Trust which
means that your iPhone may never send data to your computer hence the reason behind why your
iPhone isn’t visible on your iTunes. If you suspect that this might be the reason behind the non-
pairing then there is an option to change the trusted computers settings which you can follow. To do
that you will have to go on to Settings > General > Reset > Reset > Reset Location and Privacy.
    5. Update your software
If still there is no signs of pairing then you should make sure that both your iPhone and Computer
are up-to-date. If possible update your iPhone, your iTunes and also your OS (MacOS or Windows). To purchase the software, you can go to the website like X-Tech Buy.
In order to update your Mac you can follow the following steps: System Prefrences > Software
      Update.
To update your windows you will need to go through the following steps: Start > Settings > Update
      and Security > Windows Update.
To update iTunes on Mac you will need to open the App Store and click on updates if an update is
available you can click on it. To update the iTunes on your Windows you need to open iTunes go to
      Help > Check for Updates.
To Update the iPhone Driver in a Windows PC
One thing users of Windows can try is updating their driver software for the iPhone. Doing this often
results in your iPhone showing in iTunes. Here’s how you do it if you downloaded iTunes from the
      Microsoft Store.
Step 1: Disconnect your iPhone from your PC. Then, unlock your iPhone and reconnect it to the PC
      using your USB cable.
Step 2: Right-click the Start button, then select Device Manager. Next, click Portable Devices so that
      it expands.
Step 3: Right-click on Apple iPhone (or whatever your iPhone may be called by your PC). Click Update
Driver. Lastly, choose Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.

Doing this will install new driver software for your iPhone. After it has installed, open iTunes. It
should be able to detect your iPhone now.
Alternatively, if you downloaded iTunes from Apple’s website rather than from the Microsoft Store,
you should do the following to update your iPhone driver:
Step 1: Connect your iPhone via USB cable to your PC. Unlock it.
Step 2: Press the Windows + R keys simultaneously, which opens the Run command. In
the Run window, enter the following:
    %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Step 3: Click OK. Right-click on either Usbaapl64.inf or Usbaapl.inf. Next, click Install. Lastly,
disconnect your iPhone, restart your PC, then restart the PC and reconnect your iPhone before
    opening iTunes.

    Go to Apple Support
If none of the above solutions seem to help then the problemmay lay within the hardware of your
iPhone. In this case your only option is to contact Apple Support. The Team of Apple Care may be
able to assist you with the Hardware fault and hence solving the problem you can approach a reliable expert like BITS.
