Checking and removing malware from your devices can be troublesome for home users. This blog will be dedicated to utilizing a malware scanner called Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes normally scans in batch mode so it will not interfere with other software you are running. The version you will be using today is free. It also comes with a 14-day premium trial, which scans and prevents malware in real-time. If you are concerned about malware on your devices, it is okay because CROS is here to help.

Step 1: Download and install the software

You can download Malwarebytes here. After that, you can follow the prompt to install the software like you would any other software. Once it is installed, you should see the following:

Step 2: Activate the premium trial

Please proceed by choosing “Maybe later.”

You will, then, be informed that your 14-day premium trial has begun. Since it is not mandatory, it is up to you whether you provide your email or not. Please proceed by clicking “Get started.” 

Step 3: Start scanning

Finally, you can select the blue scan button in the middle to check for malware and any threats.
