About Google Workspace with Google Domains

This blog overviews how Google Workspace works with Google Domains, including how to sign up and answers to frequently asked questions. With Google Workspace, you can create custom email addresses for your domain, such as [email protected], add email aliases, and manage all your mail from one inbox.

    How it works

Every Google Workspace subscription includes custom email, video meetings, Calendar, Docs, and more collaboration and communication tools for your business. The monthly cost of Google Workspace is USD 6 per user for Business Starter, USD 12 per user for Business Standard, and $18 USD per user for Business Plus – here are some features of Google Workspace:

    • Schedule events in Calendar at times that work for everyone and get meeting reminders directly in your Gmail inbox.
    • Use Drive to store and access over 40 popular file formats, including videos, images, Microsoft Office documents, and PDFs.
    • Work with or without an internet connection.
    • Create a new spreadsheet and edit it with others simultaneously from your computer, phone, or tablet.

How to sign up for Google Workspace

To sign up for Google Workspace, follow these steps:

    • Sign in to google domains.
    • Select the name of your environment.
    • Open the menu.
    • Click Email.
    • Under Get a custom email address, click Get Google Workspace.
    • Follow the steps to create your Google Workspace account and set up billing. You’re your Google Workspace account administrator, so you can add users and manage service settings. Users will send a temporary password over email and start using your online doc, storage, and video conferencing. If you need help, you can reach out to the workspace help centre, which is available 24/7.

This Blog will walk you through creating and accessing new email addresses from the Google Workspace Admin Console. The domain used must be verified before using any of the Google Workspace services. You must recreate email accounts configured on the HostGator server under your Google Workspace account.

    Accessing Google Workspace Email

To access mail through your Google Workspace account:

    • Log into your Google Admin Console at http://google.com/a/your_domain.com (you might want to replace your_domain.com with your actual domain name).
    • Once logged in, click on the Google Workspace icon.
    • Select the Gmail option.
    • It will provide your direct link to Gmail at the top of the page beneath Gmail in the following format: http://mail.google.com/a/your_domain.com.
    • Click the link to access your Gmail account.

Adding Email Accounts to Google Workspace

Adding a user in Google Workspace Admin Console will automatically set up a Google Workspace email account for the added user. To add a user, follow the steps below-

    1. Log into your Google Admin Console at http://google.com/a/your_domain.com (replace your_domain.com with your actual domain name).
    2. Click the Add Users link.
    3. In the pop-up, select Add a user manually and click Continue.
    4. Provide the new user’s name and email address.
    5. If you want to set a password for the user, click Set Password; otherwise, It will generate a temporary password.
    6. Click the Create New User button.

Once the user is added, a pop-up will appear with the user’s username, email address, and password. You can email or print the instructions for the user.
